Quality Assurance Manager

gpac is working with a Food Manufacturer that is seeking a  Quality Assurance Manager , for their facility south of Madison.  This dairy company has been in business for 40 years and are growing significantly, adding a new position .  They are looking for someone with Quality Assurance management experience, and able to oversee 2 plants in town.

This position is ideal for someone who prefers to manage from the floor, not an office, and enjoys mentoring personnel.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Daytime hours but flexible for special situations
• Implement QA policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for corrective action.
• Understand test results and be able to communicate adequately to customers
• Train and mentor Quality Control Technicians (from the floor, not office)
• Participate in customer audits and annual SQF audits as needed.
• Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.
• Direct inspection and sampling activities to maintain continuous control over materials, facilities, and products, including specification inspections, temperature, and weight checks.
• Identify and resolve problems promptly; skillfully gather and analyze information; develop alternative solutions; and work well in group problem-solving situations.
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Sanitation Manager to ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds.
