Job description

Director Of Integrations

The Director of Integrations will provide technical direction and administrative support for the daily operational activities of the Integration team. The Director is expected to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, be well organized, and able to work under pressure with excellent professionalism. This position is responsible for delivering an elevated level of system and staff performance by ensuring that team members have the appropriate knowledge and understanding of the underlying technologies and standards to provide effective and efficient implementation, deployment, and support for all assigned interoperability activities.

The Director ensures that all integration efforts support HIE participant commitments and the organization's strategic and operational goals, standards, objectives, policies, and procedures. The Director will serve as a technical expert for internal and external stakeholders as it relates to interface and interoperability solutions offered by Contexture. This individual will provide back-up support to the team during staffing outages and high demand periods. The Director of Integrations will strategize and collaborate closely with other Directors and the VP of Integrations.

This position is based in Phoenix Arizona, Denver or Grand Junction Colorado. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following :

  • Provide positive leadership, daily supervision, and management of a diverse team
  • Drive integration approaches, efforts, and decisions
  • Coordinate with other department leads to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Manage team staff recruitment, hiring, training, and performance appraisals
  • Demonstrate initiative in developing operational goals and leadership programs
  • Serve as a technical expert for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure standards are met and followed for implementations
  • Focus on continual service improvement efforts
  • Ensure interface staff assignments and allocations are up-to-date
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for best practices
  • Conduct regular team and staff meetings
  • Prioritize team goals and tactics
  • Track and monitor key project variables
  • Assess and report risks relative to projects
  • Adhere to change management
  • Serve as primary Service Owner and voting member of Change Advisory Board
  • Contribute to the development and management of key organizational strategies
  • Provide positive leadership through collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Maximize team's capacity and reduce single points of failure
  • Assist team members in interpreting scope and evaluating risks
  • Create and manage team goals and performance metrics
  • Lead, plan, schedule, and direct delivery of IT deliverables
  • Lead and drive participant commitment and collaboration
  • Effectively self-manage through difficult situations
  • Provide leadership in the development of a repeatable HIE implementation methodology
  • Effectively transition between opposing technical discussions
  • Provide leadership on application change requests
  • Support other organizational leaders in developing strategic business plans
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge and skills related to integration tools
  • Provide training and knowledge-sharing with the technical team
  • Provide first-hand assistance to the Integration, Application Development, PMO, and Service Desk
  • Must be available for after-hours work
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Strong working knowledge with interface engines
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare clinical codes sets
  • Experience utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Strong knowledge in clinical workflow

  • Education / Experience :

    Minimum of 10+ years of experience in healthcare systems and technology and multifaceted experience in software systems implementation. 5+ years of technical team management and 6+ years of experience with integrating HL7, XML / CDA or other health information messaging systems. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field, or equivalent of 10+ years IT project management experience in healthcare working with external customers.

    The position may require occasional availability for after-hours work, outside of regularly scheduled hours.

    The position may require ability to periodically drive to and from clients, conferences and / or events; and / or limited travel.

    This position is expected to be exposed to, process, or handle sensitive information including but not limited to Protected Health Information (PHI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), financial information, etc. As such, the holder of this position is expected to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies, and compliance expectations.

    Physical Demands :

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The person in this position needs to frequently communicate and exchange information and move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a keyboard, monitor, calculator, copy / scanner machine, and printer. Frequently moves office and work-related material weighing up to 10 pounds; Occasionally moves office and work-related material weighing up to 30 pounds.
