Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week home health assignment in West Virginia, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
Role is based in a home health setting serving patients in their residencesCovers up to 8 counties; therapists are scheduled primarily based on home location and coverage needsFocus on general orthopedic, generalized weakness, strengthening, and cardiac rehab patientsPatient caseload typically consists of 5-6 units per day, with varied visit types including SOC, discharge, recertification, and regular visitsUses EPIC EMR system for documentationSelf-scheduling is permitted, with shifts Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 : 30 pmNo weekend or holiday requirementsOrientation provided at the Gassaway office, with Epic documentation training tailored to clinician needsTherapists work independently in the field, supported by a team of PTAsResponsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and coordination of care within home health protocolsOrientation and Epic EMR training are tailored to individual readiness and contract timelinesRole is open to PTs able to provide coverage for Webster and Nicholas Counties, with flexibility for other counties as neededReturn-to-work policy requires a 2-year break for former employees of any WVU Medicine location before reapplyingTherapists cannot work as a traveler at WVU-affiliated facilities for more than 1 cumulative year without taking a subsequent 2-year breakNo local travelers accepted; only candidates who live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility are eligibleRequirements
Current physical therapy license required if applicable and meeting West Virginia state practice requirementsMinimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience in any settingCurrent BLS certification requiredPositive attitude and willingness to learn and use Epic documentation systemAbility to travel and provide care within the assigned countiesMust adhere to departmental dress code of navy scrubs or khaki bottoms with navy poloBenefits
