Job Summary and Qualifications

The Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to daily living and assisting the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the Advanced PCT also assists the nursing staff in providing one or more specialized patient care services, in accordance with the PCT's skills / training and the needs of the Department.

Responsibilities include observing patients, documenting changes, and communicating them with the nursing team. Obtains and records initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy. Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds. Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly. Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate.

Qualifications include Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date and 1 year of experience preferred.
