We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Participation Support (CPS) services in Lansdale, PA. This role focuses on helping an adult with developmental disabilities actively participate in their community while promoting independence, inclusion, and quality of life. The ideal candidate will be reliable, supportive, and passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals through meaningful community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support in community settings such as volunteering, fitness activities, shopping, recreational events, and social outings.
- Encourage social skills, independence, and self-advocacy during community participation.
- Ensure health, safety, and dignity are maintained in all activities.
- Offer respectful support that aligns with trauma-informed and person-centered practices.
- Complete accurate daily documentation of services delivered, progress toward outcomes, and any observations.
- Communicate consistently with supervisors, families, and team members to support service delivery.
Requirements
Availability for 10 hours per week ; part-time schedule with some flexibility.Valid drivers license and reliable personal vehicle required for transporting the individual during community activities.Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.Knowledge of community inclusion principles and person-centered supports.Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a calm, professional demeanor.Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, individual rights, and HCBS standards.
