Job Title : Controller
Summary : The Controller will lead the financial planning, debt financing, budget management, and human resources functions. This role ensures that all accounting procedures follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and that HR practices adhere to state and federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities :
Finance :
- Financial Strategy & Analysis :
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operational performance of departments.
- Construct and monitor robust control systems to ensure financial integrity.
- Department Management :
- Oversee the Finance department, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll.
- Manage relationships with outsourced accounting or finance service providers.
- Banking & Financial Relations :
- Maintain and enhance banking relationships.
- Coordinate all aspects of financial planning and budget management.
- Reporting & Compliance :
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
- Prepare financial outlooks and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
- Policy & Procedure Development :
- Establish and implement both short and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as the primary contact for company financial matters.
- Audit and Risk Management :
- Direct financial audits and recommend procedural enhancements.
- Identify, understand, and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
- Report risk issues to majority shareholders / ownership.
Human Resources :
HR Management :Lead the Human Resources department, overseeing staff and operations.Manage employee relations, handle open legal issues, and ensure compliance with employment laws.Benefits & Payroll :Administer the company's medical insurance program.Supervise payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.Recruitment :Assist in the recruitment process, from posting positions to screening, interviewing, and selecting new employees.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role within a manufacturing or similar setting.Strong understanding of GAAP, financial planning, and compliance.Experience with HR management, including benefits administration and payroll.Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and HRIS systems.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
