About The Position

Job Title : RN - CVICU

Shift : Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience recommended

License : Active RN License required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required

Must-Have :

Management of vasoactive medications

Experience with various surgical drains, chest tubes, and ventilators

Proficient in managing invasive lines, including arterial lines and PA catheters

Knowledge of transvenous pacemakers

Experience with IABP and Impella is strongly preferred

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

The facility has 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms.

It is a Trauma Level III Teaching Hospital, recognized as a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.

Patient types and common diagnoses include STEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and thoracic surgery.

Charge nurses may have or may not have patient assignments.

The unit operates with an RN-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2.

All staff are expected to work 75% of holidays.

Weekend rotation is required every other weekend.

RTO is permissible up to 6 days off, excluding holidays.

Travelers may be required to float within the region and scope of practice as needed.

If floating mid-shift, travelers will be compensated for travel time between facilities.

The shift timing may vary, including early shifts and evening shifts.

Scrub color is navy.
