Crossroads Veterinary Clinic is a well-established small animal clinic located in Cortland, NY. Our four veterinarians provide wellness care as well as sick exams, and we offer routine soft tissue surgeries and basic dental surgeries.

We are looking for a full-time or part-time LVT. Our current hours of operation are 8a-6p M-F. Applicants must have weekend availability. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Duties and responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and update patient charts.
• Ensure appointments are in exam rooms and ready for the veterinarian in a timely manner.
• Assist veterinarian during appointments as needed.
• Appropriately restrain animals in ways to minimize fear and stress.
• Collect and process specimens for both in-house testing and outside laboratory testing.
• Properly position animals for radiographs using the correct settings techniques.
• Successfully perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters.
• Obtain vital readings on hospitalized patients and monitor IV fluid administration.
• Execute anesthetic induction and monitoring during surgeries.
• Perform dental prophylaxis, charting, and radiographs.
• Admit and discharge hospitalized patients.
• Keep patient chart up to date including lab results.
• Maintain clear and open client communication.
• Promote client education.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods of time, bend and squat.
