About The Position

Job Title : Certified Surgical Technician

Profession : CST / ORT

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 06 : 30 - 15 : 00

Hours per Shift : 8

Experience : One or more years of experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or an instrument care environment preferred.

License : Required

Certifications : BLS certification required. Surgical Tech certification required.

Must-Have : Knowledge of care and handling of instruments and equipment.

Description :

An integral member of the surgical team who provides support for surgeons throughout the operation.

Responsible for preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment.

Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology is preferred.

Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures is necessary.

Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English is essential.

Employee will be instructed in Universal Precautions and Right to Know.

Employee will be expected to utilize all protective equipment available whenever there is a potential for exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals.

Heavy physical effort is required, including standing, walking, or lifting most of the day.

Requires the ability to speak, hear, and communicate verbal and written materials.
