Senior Account Clerk
Support the Honolulu Police Department by managing payroll and grant accounting with precision and integrity. The Honolulu Police Department, Finance Division, is hiring two (2) Senior Account Clerks in Honolulu. These positions play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and maintenance of the department's financial records and accounting systems.

Education requirement : Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Experience requirement : Four (4) years of clerical experience, three (3) years of which shall have been in account record keeping work. This experience must demonstrate the ability to : maintain fiscal accounts and records; prepare financial reports and statements; interpret fiscal records and data; compare names and numbers for accuracy; operate calculating and adding machines, typewriters, and standard office equipment; follow oral and written instructions; and work harmoniously with others.
Substitution : An Associate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of clerical experience and up to one year of account record keeping experience. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting or auditing courses, of which six must be above the elementary course level and from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university, will substitute for all of the required experience.
