Job Description – Architect (DevX / Developer Experience) Location : Portland, Oregon Experience : 12–15+ years Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Architect – DevX (Developer Experience) to lead the design and architecture of our Developer Portal and Virtual Rack platform. This role requires a balance of technical depth, architectural vision, and hands-on involvement, with a focus on creating a scalable, secure, and user-friendly developer ecosystem. The Architect will work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and engineering teams in both the US and India, providing direction on platform architecture, multi-tenancy, CI / CD integration, cloud scalability, and high availability design. Key Responsibilities - Define end-to-end architecture for the Developer Experience platform (Portal + Virtual Rack on AWS). - Drive design decisions around scalability, multi-tenancy, and high availability. - Provide architectural guidance on front-end portal, backend microservices, API integrations, and DevOps pipelines. - Collaborate with US-based DevX team and offshore Scrum teams to ensure architectural alignment. - Evaluate and recommend cloud-native solutions (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, API Gateways, Serverless, etc.). - Ensure secure and seamless integration with CI / CD workflows and deployment pipelines. - Establish coding, design, and security best practices across teams. - Act as a mentor for technical leads and senior engineers. - Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and architectural audits. - Support long-term technology roadmap aligned with business goals and aggressive milestones. Required Skills & Experience - 12+ years in software engineering with at least 4+ years in an architect role. - Strong background in cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, Docker. - Experience with developer portals, API management, multi-tenant SaaS systems. - Proven expertise in scaling front-end and back-end platforms to handle large user bases. - Hands-on experience in microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems. - Strong DevOps / CI-CD knowledge (GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code). - Exposure to observability frameworks (logging, monitoring, tracing). - Strong understanding of security and compliance in multi-tenant environments. - Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React / Angular) and backend stacks (Go, Node.js, Java). - Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across geographies. Good to Have - Experience with Virtual Rack / Virtual Test Environments or similar large-scale simulation systems. - Knowledge of airline / avionics industry or regulated environments. - Experience building developer communities / platforms (SDK portals, API hubs). Soft Skills - Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, outcome-driven approach. - Ability to mentor and guide teams in a pyramid structure (senior, mid-level, junior). - Comfortable working with distributed teams (India + US). - Strong presentation skills to communicate architecture to both technical and executive stakeholders
