Job Summary :

The Part-time Event Personnel position is primarily responsible for custodial duties. Part-time employees will report to an operations Supervisor who is responsible for the direction of housekeeping services in the Baltimore Convention Center. The incumbent is responsible for the daily maintenance and custodial responsibilities for both the public and private sections of the facility. This is a non-exempt position and is considered non-essential.

Essential Functions :

• Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
• Sweep, mop, and / or vacuum floors. Empty, clean, and line wastebaskets and recycling containers inside and outside of the facility.
• Clean and dust walls, lockers, furniture, and fixtures.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies as directed.
• Polish elevators, escalators, railings, and other metal fixtures.
• Wash walls and clean interior and exterior windows.
• Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

AND Experience : One year of work experience.

OR Equivalency Notes : Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-supervisory experience or education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.

Licenses, Registration and Certificates :

Have a valid Maryland class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and be eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver's permit. PROVISIONAL DRIVER'S LICENCES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. NOTE : YOU MUST UPLOAD COPY OF YOUR VALID DRIVER'S LICENCES WITH THE APPLICATION AT THE TIME OF APPLYING.

Background Check

Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and / or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.

Probation

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
