About The Position

Experience : Minimum 2 years required.

License : Active nursing license required.

Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, PALS required.

Must-Have :

ICU experience required.

Traveler experience is required.

Description :

RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.

Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may lead to cancellation.

Candidates may recover surgical patients in the ICU setting.

Must have Phase 1-2 PACU skills.

Candidates must have some ICU experience.

There will be no floating to the ICU but management of this level of care is in the PACU.

Additionally, PACU RNs may be sent to recover patients in the surgical ICU.

Ratios are typically 1 : 2.

Call requirement is once every four weeks.

Weekend requirement may vary.

Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events.

Staffing will be based on the need of the OR.

The PACU environment is varied and challenging.

Recovery may take 30 to 90 minutes, depending on discharge criteria.

Staff may recover patients overnight and discharge Phase II patients.

The unit receives patients directly from the OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, and MRI.

Daily census ranges from 75 to 100 patients.

Special procedures may include thoracotomies and pediatric recovery.

Cardiac monitoring and various specialized equipment will be used.

Documentation and medication management systems include Epic and Pyxis.

Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Candidates should be comfortable with floating and must have no restrictions.

References may be required.
