Vertical Band Saw Operator : Burlington, Wisconsin

Our customer in Burlington, Wisconsin is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Vertical Band Saw Operator to work full-time on 1st shift. They are looking for dependable individuals who are mechanically inclined and can contribute to the productivity and safety of the shop floor.

Responsibilities of the Vertical Band Saw Operator :

  • Review and interpret written work instructions
  • Operate vertical and horizontal band saws
  • Cut test specimens according to specified work orders
  • Read and understand basic blueprints and drawings
  • Use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
  • Operate surface grinding equipment
  • Stage and prepare material for fabrication
  • Prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines
  • Follow all safety procedures in a machine shop environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Vertical Band Saw Operator Requirements and Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read a ruler / tape measure to the 1 / 16th of an inch
  • Ability to add, subtract, and simplify fractions
  • Basic understanding of blueprints
  • Able to operate or willing to learn to operate forklift, overhead crane, and jib hoist
  • Experience with or ability to learn pneumatic and electric grinders and basic hand tools
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

    • Pay for Vertical Band Saw Operator : $18–$25 / hour

    • Type : 1st Shift, Full-time

    Schedule : Monday – Thursday, 6 : 00am – 4 : 30pm. Overtime as needed.
