Ayden Healthcare of Toledo is currently seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant OTA Per Diem.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of the Director of Therapy to provide high-quality care to patients. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their daily living activities (ADLs).
Duties
Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the Director of Therapy.
Provide direct patient care, ensuring safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and exercises to enhance recovery.
Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with medical standards.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop effective care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to inform treatment approaches.
Support patients in performing daily living activities (ADLs) to promote independence and quality of life.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy.
Qualifications
Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Knowledge of occupational health practices and principles related to patient care.
Experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy.
Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting patient progress.
