BILLING SPECIALIST

Job Summary :

Performs patient billing and claims and files to insurance companies for reimbursement. Accepts and posts payments to accounts and receives walk-in customers and answers phone promptly. Reviews claims and refiles and / or files appeals as necessary; pulls records for medical review / subpoena per policy. Files and retrieves paper and electronic claims and remittance. Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient / guest experiences. Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality.

Education :

High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or experience in medical billing.

Experience :

One year working in medical billing. Certification by the National Academy of Ambulance Coding preferred.

Additional Skills / Abilities :

Excellent customer service skills and computer skills required. Must be familiar with basic human anatomy. Will obtain and maintain NAAC certification within one year of hire date.
