• Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSSRadius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• of Beds : 18- Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 4, 1 : 3 for post surgical patients in the first 24 hours- Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. Unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart. Cath Lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR and any other cardiac and vascular related diagnosis.- Experience or 'Must have' skills : 1 year of experience with this patient population- Are RNs required to titrate drips : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and multiple other medications for blood pressure management- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment : Yes - rare to take assignment- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit Ratios Duties : Yes- 1 : 18- Hospitalist & / or Intensivist in house 24 / 7 In the ICU 24 / 7 : Yes hospitalist and intensivist in house with Cardiology on call after hours - RT in ICU 24 / 7 : Yes- RT Equipment Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot : BiPAP, CPAP, to Nasal Cannula- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors : Remote tele techs, tele hardwired and tele box capabilities.
