Operator (1st Shift)

Machine Operator - Job Description Pay :

• From $18.00 per hour Job description : Overview We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team as an Operator.
• A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• A new operator will start in one of four areas of the mill, determined by the needs of the team.
• The ideal operator will eventually gain the competence to cover all four working areas upon completion of all training.
• Qualification of each area is rewarded with a pay increase.
• Responsibilities Operate equipment, including mobile equipment to defined standards and product specification targets Monitor and / or enter information into computer control systems Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production Inspect product to ensure quality standards are met Perform basic asset care duties to include routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment Attend your regular scheduled shift without violations including tardiness which at times will include participating in meetings and training sessions as required.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and / or pulling, in a loud / noisy, industrial, non-temperature controlled, high-volume environment Qualifications Good problem-solving skills.
• Minor mechanical skills a plus Prior experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Speak, read, and write English a must Acceptable Drug Screening results Essential functions of this job Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Moderate-to-frequent reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, and climbing.
• Must be able to work in hot, humid, cold, or noisy environments (seasonal or process-related).
• Must be able to respond quickly to audible alarms and visual indicators on production equipment.
• Must be able to sit or drive company equipment (e.g., forklifts, tuggers) for short or extended periods (if required).
