Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN with at least 1.5 years of experience and current BLS, PALS, and NM or Compact RN license for a rotating shift position.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a Level I Trauma and Teaching HospitalTypical ratio is 1 : 2 with critically ill pediatric patientsRotating shifts required; either days or nights may be assigned during contract (4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts)Must float within scope to NICU and may serve as a resource in the Peds ED for specific tasks without full assignmentCommon diagnoses include respiratory and renal failure, trauma, multi-system organ failure, and heme / onc casesUses Cerner EMR systemNo on-call requiredWeekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule for days, 4-5 for nightsNo staff within a 75-mile radius will be consideredResponsibilities include managing critically ill pediatric patients, supporting the team in NICU and as a resource in the Peds EDBlack scrubs required; not provided by facilityFirst-time travelers acceptedRTO over 7 days requires approval; no RTO first or last 7 days of the contractHoliday PTO limited to one holiday bundle per travelerFree parking availableMust provide a non-local Driver’s License or a written transportation plan if unavailableOrientation modules required and completed during the first weekDrug screening required within 30 days of startPerm staff may return as travelers if 12 months have passed since last employedRequirements
