Job descriptionTemporary positionperfect for those seeking a seasonal role Work outdoors in the fresh Wyoming air Gain valuable experience in facilities and grounds maintenance Be part of a supportive team focused on safety and efficiency May pick up trash, mow, and provide general maintenance of the WYDOT grounds. May operate vehicles, light and heavy equipment, various power tools and equipment, and supplies. Performs duties in removing snow and ice from WYDOT parking lots, sidewalks, interchanges, and pedestrian overpasses. Maintains and operates equipment safely and proficiently. Assists skilled trades employees, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians with their assigned tasks, performs general services duties, and other duties as assigned. Ability to work independently and cooperate with a team. Willing to learn and follow directions. Ability to use equipment safely. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures. Applicants must work the scheduled hours of Monday - Thursday, 6 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, and Friday, 6 : 00 AM to 10 : 00 AM Work may be performed both on outside grounds and inside buildings Operate vehicles, light and heavy equipment, a variety of power tools and equipment Individuals in this classification must be available for emergency work calls at any time, including nights and weekends Climbing on an occasional to regular basis Lifting / grasping up to 50 pounds without assistance regularly Walking / standing on cement floors regularly Walking up and down stairs regularly Balancing on an occasional basis Stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching regularly Crawling on an occasional basis Pushing / pulling / reaching regularly FLSA : Non-Exempt These are temporary positions, not to exceed 9 months Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license This position requires all successful applicants to be subject to fingerprints and background checks The Wyoming Department of Transportation is a Drug-Free Workplace E-Verify : WYDOT uses E-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States. Seasonal Laborer Opportunity
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is looking for Seasonal Laborers to join our Facilities Management Program in Cheyenne. These temporary positions are perfect for individuals who love working outdoors, enjoy working with their hands, and are eager to be part of a dedicated team that helps keep Wyoming safe and moving. As a Seasonal Laborer, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining our beautiful grounds and ensuring smooth, safe travel with snow removal efforts. Plus, you'll get to work on a flexible schedule, leaving you plenty of time to explore all Wyoming has to offer!
Schedule :
- Monday - Thursday : 6 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM
- Friday : 6 : 00 AM - 10 : 00 AM Enjoy long weekends while contributing to essential public service during the week!
