Laborer Asphalt

Team Elmer's seeks to fill several openings for Asphalt Laborers . This position will have the general responsibility to provide support and assistance to the other skilled workers working on the project

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Work in a team environment with other co-workers and foreman
• Assist construction / paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling, raking and moving materials.
• May operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as some equipment.
• As part of the paving crew primarily will spend time raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt and sweeping up debris.
• Complete a variety of other general labor assignments such as clean and prepare sites.
• Required to spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining a good pace.
• Works with rakes to redistribute the asphalt mix more correctly as it leaves the screed and is ready for rolling.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
• Follow directions of foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
• Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
• Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• May be required to regulate traffic as needed.
• Ability and willingness to comply with and follow all company, OSHA, MIOSHA and DOT safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned
