We are looking for a skilled Low Voltage Technician specializing in alarm systems to join our team in Davenport, Iowa. This is a contract to hire position suited for individuals with a strong background in low-voltage technologies and a proactive, customer-centric approach. The role involves diverse technical tasks, offering variety and opportunities to work on-site at different locations within a manageable travel radius.
Responsibilities :
- Install fire alarm panels, security systems, and access control panels to ensure seamless functionality.
- Perform service work including troubleshooting and repairing low-voltage systems.
- Handle tasks such as terminating and re-pulling copper cables to support new access points.
- Travel within a 2-3 hour radius for projects, with occasional overnight stays based on site requirements.
- Collaborate on cabling and cleanup projects in nursing homes, focusing on nurse call systems and access control upgrades.
- Adapt to varying daily responsibilities, ensuring flexibility and problem-solving in dynamic environments.
- Work on-site for extended periods, including 12-hour shifts or multi-day stays, depending on project needs.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols during installations and maintenance.
- Effectively manage tools and resources to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in low-voltage technologies, with a willingness to consider candidates with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, intercoms, and security technologies.
- Certifications in systems such as Lenel, Bosch, or similar are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and problem-solve effectively.
- Proficiency in network cabling, fiber optic installation, and low-voltage cabling.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
- Flexibility to travel and adapt to varying work schedules.
