Perform general duty law enforcement work in transporting criminal inmates to and from various facilities throughout the state. Tasks include serving legal papers, attending court, and responding to complaint calls. Tact and firmness are required in frequent public contact. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the Patrol Division Captain and Transport Sergeant.

Key responsibilities :

• Assist in planning and arranging out-of-county transports and pickups of prisoners, overseeing related expenditures, and arranging inmate transport out of state when necessary.
• Answer complaint calls and assist in investigating crimes and disturbances; interview witnesses, gather evidence, interrogate suspects, make arrests, and prepare investigation reports.
• Serve legal papers such as summons, warrants, capiases, commitment papers, and special court orders; make arrests when necessary; appear in court as a witness and cooperate with other agencies for transports.
