Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,014 per week in Asheville, NC

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Progressive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 06 : 45 - 19 : 15 Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum 2 years License : RN License Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : - Stepdown or progressive care experience - Telemetry experience - Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex / Lasix Description : The unit has 40 beds. Staff consists of 1 Charge Nurse and 10 bedside nurses during the day shift, with 4 Patient Care Technicians and 1 Unit Secretary. At night, there is 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, and 3 Patient Care Technicians. Patient ratios are 1 : 4 with stretch staffing at a 1 : 5 ratio. The patient population includes individuals with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and those post cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker / ICD insertion, and ablation. Equipment used includes Zoll, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and Cerner electronic medical records. Candidates should possess a flexible and positive attitude, be great team players, and demonstrate compassion in their care. Preferred candidates will have experience with prostacyclins. Typical procedures performed include bedside cardioversion. Every other weekend work is expected. Floating may occur to all medical-surgical units, stepdown units, COVID units, and ER holding.
