Traveling Project Manager Structural Steel Erection
Overview : We are seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to oversee large-scale structural steel erection projects across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing complex commercial steel erection jobs exceeding 5,000 tons or $5 million in value. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively manage all aspects of field operations, safety, scheduling, and cost control.
Responsibilities :
- Manage all phases of structural steel erection projects from planning through closeout
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and field operations to ensure quality and performance standards are met
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, fabricators, and field crews
- Monitor job progress, resolve field issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety requirements
- Provide leadership and guidance to field teams and subcontractors
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and documentation for management review
- Travel to job sites as required to support and oversee active projects
