Carney Disposal & Carney Environmental are seeking a skilled

  • Diesel Mechanic
  • to join our dedicated team in Raynham! As a company with a wide span fleet including tractor trailers, refuse trucks, loaders, excavators, grinders and crushers there is a wide array of machines that constantly need to be repaired and maintained. The Diesel Mechanic will assist with shop operations, ensure fleet compliance, and maintain high standards of maintenance and safety.

  • Responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Assist daily shop operations, supervising maintenance work and ensuring DOT compliance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs on diesel vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete offsite road repairs and service calls as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service and parts records
  • Order parts
  • Conduct safety checks and annual vehicle inspections per federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of diesel mechanic experience.
  • Proficiency in electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulics, and engines.
  • Expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles, including roll-off trucks, automated side loaders, rear load trucks, tractor trailers, excavators, and loaders.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass background, drug tests.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Valid DOT Medical card required.
  • Job Type : Full-time

    Pay : $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

    Expected hours : No less than 40 per week
