Title : Business Development Leader – West Coast (San Francisco)

Reports to : Chief Revenue Officer

Status : Full-Time, Exempt – 100% Remote

Base Compensation : $90,000–$100,000 + Uncapped Variable Commission

Base Pay Range

$90,000.00 / yr - $100,000.00 / yr

Prendio is a trusted provider of Procure to Pay software as a service (SaaS). Prendio delivers value to biotech companies by addressing the specific needs of scientists, working closely with trusted suppliers, and giving management the control, they want. Ease‑of‑use drives compliance while minimizing training and data cleansing. Prendio was designed specifically to support biotechnologists. Prendio supports time‑critical research environments with efficient ordering, receipt, and payment of equipment, consumables, and services.

BioProcure aims to keep researchers in the lab – doing science! We partner with startup Biotechs by providing services designed to streamline the entire procure‑to‑pay process, implement internal controls, and obtain savings. Prendio / BioProcure offers a team of purchasing and accounting experts dedicated to the success of the companies that we partner with.

Prendio‑BioProcure is scaling rapidly across the U.S. life science ecosystem. We are seeking a high‑energy, full‑cycle Business Development Leader to own the San Francisco and broader West Coast territory. This individual will be responsible for driving new logo growth across early‑to‑mid‑stage biotech companies – leading prospecting, demos, negotiations, and close.

This is a hands‑on, entrepreneurial sales role that requires both strategic selling and daily outbound execution. For the first two quarters, the Business Development Leader will operate independently without SDR support, managing the full pipeline generation and closing process while building regional brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Ownership & Pipeline Generation
  • Build and execute a go‑to‑market strategy for the West Coast territory, with a focus on emerging biotech and life science startups.
  • Source and qualify new opportunities through outbound prospecting, event networking, and partner relationships with incubators, investors, and advisors.
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of high‑quality opportunities within HubSpot; ensure 100% data accuracy and forecast visibility.
  • Lead the full sales cycle : outreach, discovery, product demonstration, value storytelling, negotiation, and close.
  • Drive consistent quota attainment through disciplined daily activity and strategic account prioritization.
  • Tailor presentations and demos to resonate with scientific founders, finance leaders, and operations executives.
  • Negotiate contracts and multi‑year agreements that align with company pricing and margin objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner cross‑functionally to refine messaging, outbound sequences, and deal qualification criteria.
  • Represent Prendio‑BioProcure at regional industry events, incubator programs, and life science innovation hubs to strengthen market visibility.
  • Provide voice‑of‑customer insights to influence product and marketing strategy.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in full‑cycle B2B SaaS or technology sales, ideally in procurement, finance, or life science sectors.
  • Demonstrated success prospecting and closing net‑new business without SDR or inbound pipeline support.
  • Proven ability to consistently exceed quota and manage high‑velocity deal cycles.
  • Strong communication and executive‑level presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and disciplined pipeline management.
