Position Overview :
The primary purpose of this position is to support the clients’ behavioral treatment program and ensure adherence to the program guidelines. The Program Counselor serves as a model and coach for the MWHs during their assigned shift. This position requires a strong understanding of the fundamentals of ABA in order to quickly assess challenging behavior and apply effective, function-based interventions. Along with direct implementation of the program, the Program Counselor is responsible for supporting the MHWs with implementation and point collection for behavioral treatment goals, assisting with rehabilitation groups, utilizing the principles of applied behavior analysis for crisis de-escalation and skills teaching, and completing required clinical documentation. The Program Counselor works under the close supervision and guidance of the Program Director and Licensed Mental Health Clinician to design and facilitate groups.
