HOST
The host is responsible for greeting / seating guests and maintaining a wait list. They are the face of the restaurant and their hospitality should be an example of that.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The sever reports directly to the assistant manager or GM.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcomes and greets guests.
- When possible, opens the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
- When on a wait, records guest names and number of people in party
- Provides guests with estimated waiting time
- Accommodates special seating requests for handicapped guests whenever possible
- Walks and talks with the guest as they are seated
- Maintains restroom cleanliness
- Answers the phone with a smile
- Assists in running food to the dining room
