Job Responsibilities
Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary :
- Performs duties as a driver within a designated geographical radius defined by miles, performing multiple shuttles / pick-ups in a LTL carrier structure May transport product / trailer to offsite facilities
- Perform complete & document required inspections of both Tractor, Mule & Trailers as required by the DOT
- Record all hours of service performed as required by the DOT
- Responsible to maintain mule / tractor / trailer equipment in accordance with the prescribed preventive maintenance schedule
- Complete all required documents for load transporting to include vendors, store deliveries, bills of loading, etc.
- Refrigerated commodities requiring specific temperature setting / reading must be monitored, documented & controlled by driver
- Responsible for content & condition of cargo / commodity / product within trailer Responsible for securing of commodity
- Responsible for unloading the trailer at store deliveries
- The manner & accountability of receiving all products as purchased & loaded onto the trailer is the responsibility of the driver at the time of the pick-up from vendor
- Must complete any required Mule & Tractor training classes & achieve a minimum of 15,000 miles HEB driving experience to eligible for advancement to full time driver status. Must meet and maintain compliance with all DOT regulations
- Must maintain compliance as a qualified driver status in accordance with the FMCSR
- Resolves escalations if within parameters, reports to higher parties if unable to resolve
Experience and Education Preferred :
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)Minimum age of 21 yearsNo DUI / DWI in Life time3 years of driving experience or have successfully received Certification as an HEB Relief DriverMaintain status as a Qualified Driver in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.Proficient in DOT, local, state and federal laws and regulations in addition to company safety policies.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced unsupervised environment.Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with attention to detail.Flexible work schedule.CDL certified with a minimum of 3 years tractor / trailer experiencePhysical and Other Requirements :
Occasional lifting of 25 to 75 lbsAbility to pass and maintain qualification in accordance with the FMCSR (DOT Physical)Physically able to lift, sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, bend on a regular basis as part of the scope of job duties.Ability to physically work up to 70 hours per week in accordance with the DOT regulations 12-2015
