OVERVIEW OF POSITION :
To assist, support, and work closely with teachers and other team members in providing educational benefits for students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Earn an associates degree or higher from a college or university
- Pass a state or local assessment that demonstrates knowledge of, and ability to assist in, reading, writing, and mathematics.

Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by faculty.Assists the faculty in devising special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement modifications and specially designed instruction as per IEP / 504.Monitors work, corrects papers, and supervises curriculum-based testing and makeup work as assigned.Coordination of individualized academic, behavioral and social programming.Implement appropriate and engaging lessons designed to meet the individual needs of students.Performs clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned by faculty.Alerts faculty of any problem or special information about an individual student.Assists with progress monitoring Special Education students utilizing reading, writing, transition, and math tools.Communicates with teachers and specialists.Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community.Participates in in-service training programs as approved.Maintains a safe working environment and encourages colleagues to be safety minded in the performance of all school-related duties.Performs other such duties / assignments as directed.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Ten (10) month working periodWork hours are from 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.Salary determined by salary scale updated annuallyPosition constitutes an employee at will of the Board, with a contract length and salaried wage to be established annually by the BoardFulfills the requirements of the Pennsylvania Paraprofessional StandardsEVALUATION :
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the School’s Personnel Policy.
