Overview
Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer role at American Battery Solutions Inc. in Springboro, Ohio. The SAME is responsible for the design and procurement of equipment and defining the processes needed to produce both high and low voltage products. The SAME works closely with Prototype and Design teams to troubleshoot issues and provide engineering support to ensure a smooth transition from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Develop processes for new parts and equipment by collaborating with the prototype manufacturing team to support new components and systems launches.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot issues with product components and assemblies.
- Evaluate supplier information, specifications, and validation data to select proper suppliers.
- Contribute to Designing for Assembly (DFA) & Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Facilitate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
- Lead multi-million-dollar projects and write Statements of Requirements (SOR) for equipment integrators.
- Support all prototype system builds to ensure equipment is on time and issues are resolved promptly.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by participating in testing methods and validating manufacturing processes.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Contribute to mechanical system DFMEAs / PFMEAs.
- Expand professional knowledge by attending educational seminars and conferences and networking.
- Contribute to team growth by timely project completion.
- Design and procure parts with the ability to lead projects and people from start to finish.
- Develop junior engineers and employees to improve their abilities and skills.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems Engineering or equivalent.Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in automotive or similar product design and development.Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), HMIs, relays, contractors, servos, steppers, low / high voltage circuits, torque drivers, barcode systems, database storage, and vision systems.Experience with TS 16949 and ISO 14001.Experience in fixturing design – robotic, CNC, welded assemblies.Experience with assembly controls such as sensors and vision systems.Knowledge of robotic / automated assembly processes vs. manual and when to use each.Knowledge of pneumatic assemblies, valve banks, and air controls.Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) with strong concept development and ability to convey ideas functionally.Experience in multi-content assembly processes with a holistic understanding of product manufacturing from start to finish.Strong troubleshooting skills and data processing / statistical analysis.Effective communicator for presenting technical data to internal / external customers and suppliers.Experience handling high voltage lithium-ion battery systems.Familiarity with common automotive and industry standards; able to read equipment and product drawings.Self-motivated problem solver who pays attention to detail; challenges the status quo and seeks continuous improvement.Adheres to safety standards and protocols.Key Competencies
