Description
Support the Communications and Control Engineering Group primarily as a field resource responsible for checking settings, communications, and controllers or distribution devices.
This includes work related to battery storage systems, program verification, troubleshooting, and database maintenance for this equipment.
The role involves coordination with engineers and technical services staff to ensure device functionality and communication integrity
Begins their day at a service center (LDC or MDC, to be determined) and receives direction from the Engineering Group.
Travel to assigned field locations to verify programming, update communications, troubleshoot, and support engineers remotely.
Highly collaborative, requiring constant communication with engineering and technical staff.
This is a field-based position, so safety risks are mainly related to driving and traffic.
The technician will be required to wear PPE such as a vest and occasionally use a ladder for higher installations.
The role also offers hands-on field experience and exposure to advanced technology within a leading energy company

Qualifications
Electrical or communications troubleshooting experience
Networking knowledge (firewalls, connectivity, Ethernet)
Microsoft Office (Excel, Access proficiency preferred)
Database updating and maintenance
Basic understanding of electrical engineering or distribution systems
Strong communication and collaboration
Team-oriented approach
Analytical and troubleshooting mindset
Ability to work independently in field conditions
Approximately 2 years of relevant experience in communications, IT, or electrical troubleshooting. May come from backgrounds in telecommunications, network support, or electrical panel wiring
Experience from telecom companies such as Comcast or similar would be beneficial
Electrical distribution experience
Recloser or cap bank familiarity
Network configuration experience
Prior utilities or telecom installation experience
At least 2 years of experience in electrical or communications troubleshooting
Willing to travel throughout Colorado with occasional overnight stays
Comfortable working 100% in the field
A valid driver's license

Technical Certification Bonus : Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
