Overview

We are representing a well-established and respected full-service consulting firm specializing in civil engineering, transportation, and construction management. They are seeking an experienced and licensed Professional Engineer to join their leadership team as a Design Manager, taking a central role in the design and execution of key infrastructure projects in the Chicago area.

Compensation : $135,000 - $175,000 annually

Responsibilities

• The Design Manager performs and directs project designs, calculations, and management for key project segments.
• Design & Technical Duties : Performs and directs project designs and calculations, considering construction sequence, techniques, materials selection, and applicable codes.
• Oversees and directs construction cost estimates, including quantity takeoffs and unit pricing.
• Directs and prepares specifications and bid documents.
• Directs project data collection, site observations, and project documentation.
• Directs and performs drawing reviews.
• Reads and interprets computer printouts and is knowledgeable in discipline-specific design software.
