The Navajo Area Indian Health Service is actively seeking a mission-driven Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to serve at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, NM . This is a vital role where you will advocate for patients and provide essential clinical support. Your responsibilities will include individual and group counseling, resource linkage, crisis response, and comprehensive social work services to improve community health outcomes in the Four Corners region.
This Full-Time 1099 Contract / Locum Tenens opportunity offers stability, cultural connection, and professional fulfillment in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
Schedule & Details :
- 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- No weekends, holidays, overtime or on-call
- Full-time hours
- Can work off any US license
- Up to 1 year initial contract with optional extensions
- Outpatient psychiatry with possible telepsychiatry opportunities
- Multiple openings in the Navajo Area

Key Responsibilities :
Provide assessments, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to individuals, families, and groups.Develop and implement individualized care and treatment plans.Coordinate referrals and follow-up with internal and external providers.Provide consultation and support to interdisciplinary medical staff.Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the IHS EHR system.Deliver culturally responsive care consistent with Navajo traditions and beliefs.Why Work With Us?

Requirements : Qualifications :
Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited institutionActive, unrestricted LCSW license in any U.S. state or territoryMinimum of 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, preferably with adolescentsExperience in substance use, trauma-informed care, and dual diagnosis treatmentCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMust pass a Level I and II fingerprint-based federal background investigationKnowledge of DSM and ICD criteria and behavioral health best practicesExperience with Native American or tribal health systems preferredAbility to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamStrong documentation and organizational skillsProficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR)Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United StatesWilling to comply with all state, federal, and IHS regulations for social work servicesMust complete required IHS training, including child protection, trauma-informed care, and security awarenessApply today to speak with a member of our recruitment team
