The Commercial Design Safety Core team within Enterprise Safety is seeking an Experienced (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Aerospace System Safety Engineer to join our team in Everett, WA . We are seeking passionate teammates to help us continue our mission to establish a safety engineering function across the company and develop enduring product safety design processes, practices, and solutions to assure the safety, quality, integrity, and mission success of our products and services. Enterprise Safety works with wider design, test, modifications and sustainment organizations within / across the business units to develop and put in place the appropriate policies, procedures, capabilities, skill competencies, tool suites (Model Based Systems Engineering), standards, and training supporting product / system safety consistent with Boeing’s Safety Management System (SMS), and industry best practices like ARP4761 and ARP4754.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.

Primary responsibilities :

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the challenges related to performing safety analysis activities consistent with applicable industry standards (e.g. ARP4754, ARP4761)
• Develop relevant process guidance, training content, best practice documentation, or model-based capabilities specific to system safety and mission assurance
• Contribute to our Safety Engineering College by developing training material to educate the wider engineering team on product safety fundamentals including : FHAs (functional hazard assessments), FTAs (fault tree analysis), FMEAs (failure mode & effects analysis), Development Assurance, software safety, use of newly developed tools, etc.
• Investigate model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools to digitally connect, store, and integrate critical safety deliverables like Functional Hazards Assessments, Fault Trees, Cascading Effects, and advanced safety analyses.
