The Rawlins Police Department is looking for individuals with prior emergency communications experience to work in our Communications Center on a temporary part-time basis. Working an average of not more than 30 hours per week. We will offer a competitive wage for the qualified candidate. This position is temporary and will not offer overtime or benefits.
Job Duties :
- Performing various communication duties and maintaining public safety
- Analyzing and transmitting appropriate information to law enforcement, fire, ambulance and other personnel
- Answering 911 lines and non-emergent lines and taking the appropriate action for the caller by dispatching the appropriate agency
- Remaining level-headed in stressful situations
- Record calls and activities
- Maintains records of cases and activities
- Maintain confidential information
- Interviewing callers to determine their needs
- Operating NCIC / NLETS computer terminal and auxiliary equipment, pagers, computers, and a wide variety of office equipment
- Providing general assistance to the public in preparing complaints and reports and in providing information
- Responding to emergency and non-emergency situations
