Job Summary

As a CRC, you will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple industry-sponsored clinical trials. The successful candidate will bring expertise in managing all aspects of research studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering positive relationships with sponsors and research participants. Incumbent's duties may include, but will not be limited to study coordination, regulatory compliance, participant recruitment and retention, data collection and management and communication.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $37.12 - $59.69 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

UCSF Dermatology is a global leader providing outstanding care for patients with skin disease, training the next generation, advancing innovative research, and advocating for the health of our communities. We rank among the world's top centers for skin research. We have over 20 research faculty working on cutting-edge research that spans fundamental skin biology to clinical trials. Our programs address key problems in skin biology and disease at the levels of the basic, translational, and clinical sciences. Our research faculty are also engaged in innovative work in public policy, public health, and epidemiology.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, GCP, and FDA guidelines
  • Proficiency in electronic data capture systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent, effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with subjects, team members, other departments and outside institutions; and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse subject population.
  • Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator or experience working with patients in clinical settings.
  • Experience within UCSF is a plus.
  • Fluency in the usage of Committee of Human Research (CHR) online iMEDris system for submission, renewal, and modification of protocols through this system.
  • Prior experience working with patients in a clinical or research setting to build rapport and foster trust, while providing insight into what is realistic and appropriate for patient participation and engagement.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of UCSF and departmental policies for dealing with reimbursement, guidelines for research, confidentiality and HIPPA regulations, following the UCSF mission statement and purpose for research, and a clear understanding of policies and procedures on patient safety and confidentiality (electronic and hard copy medical records, patient charts, communication, etc.); knowledge of medical terminology, research policies and guidelines, guidelines for packing / shipping infectious substances, database building / analysis, and data management within some of the following : Redcap, R, and Stata programming platforms.
