  • Develop, test, and implement automation programs.
  • Configure PLCs, motion controllers, and HMIs for new builds and retrofit machinery.
  • Translate existing control code (e.g., VB, Allen-Bradley, Siemens) into B&R-compatible logic.
  • Design and update electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
  • Specify components such as PLCs, drives, sensors, relays, motors, servos, and safety devices.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, including UL, NEC, CE, and UKCA.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and software issues during machine builds, testing, and field installations.
  • Collaborate with technicians and maintenance teams for root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Provide technical support remotely or on-site as needed; oversee / support the assembly, wiring, and testing of control panels.
  • Assist with machine startup and commissioning at in-house and customer facilities.
  • Perform I / O checks, system tuning, and ensure proper system functionality.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers to align automation systems with performance and delivery goals.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for electrical designs, software revisions, and system configurations.

Qualifications :

  • AA / AS or BS (preferred) in Electrical Egr, Controls Egr, Automation, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 2+ years experience in programming and integrating automation systems in a manufacturing or machine-building environment.
  • 2+ years of control system programming experience including PLC ladder logic, HMI screens, servo motion control, and robotics
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting with B&R Automation Studio (preferred), Allen-Bradley (RSLogix / Studio 5000), Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7)
  • Experience configuring and integrating VFDs, and industrial Ethernet / IP networks
  • Ability to translate control logic from platforms like VB, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens into B&R-compatible code.
  • Strong knowledge of schematics, control panel design, and component specification (PLCs, sensors, relays, servos, safety devices)
  • Familiarity with UL, NEC, CE, UKCA, and other safety and electrical compliance standards
  • Experience with control panel assembly and wiring, system startup and I / O checks, parameter tuning and machine commissioning
  • Proven experience diagnosing and resolving electrical and software issues during system build and testing
  • Ability to support root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and perform electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to work closely with mechanical engineers, technicians, and project managers.
  • Strong document maintenance, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges
