Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Biller to join our team! As a Medical Biller, you will be working closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager, the providers, and Patient Service Representatives, ensuring that healthcare providers are properly reimbursed for the services they render while also ensuring that patients receive accurate billing information.

Responsibilities

• Coding : analyzing patient records, doctor's notes, and other information to assign appropriate codes ( ICD, CPT, and HCPCS) for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
• Billing : preparing and submitting insurance claims, following up on unpaid claims, and managing patient billing, including creating payment plans.
• Claim Management : reviewing rejected or denied claims, identifying errors, and working to resolve issues with insurance companies to ensure proper payment.
• Compliance : ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements, including HIPAA regulations, when handling patient information and claims.
• Record Keeping : maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring proper documentation for billing and coding purposes; working with other doctor's offices and hospitals to obtain charge information and billing details.
• Customer service : assisting patients in navigating the billing and insurance landscape, answering phones, assisting clients with questions, and taking messages.
• Periodically preparing A / R reports and appeals reports for RCM

Qualifications

• Previous experience with medical coding and / or billing
• A concise and assertive communicator
• Strong organization skills
• Excellent attention to detail
