Position Overview :
As a Lab Technician I, you will be responsible for performing chemical analyses, MOR testing, and material releases.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Understand specifications and certify results in accordance with relevant standards.
- Complete job order documentation effectively.
- Utilize basic chemistry lab equipment competently.
- Ensure the proper functionality and calibration of lab testing equipment.
- Train and oversee lab staff regarding individual certification duties.
- Familiarize yourself with relevant ASTM specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in proficiency testing, audits, and round robin programs.
- Communicate lab results efficiently to production staff and management.
- Address various technical and equipment issues effectively.
- Collaborate well in team settings.
- Learn to operate the company's web-based Quality Management software (QT9).
- Proficiently use MS Office tools including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
- Perform data entry accurately.
- Adhere to all lab procedures and SOPs consistently.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail.
- Manage document scanning and filing.
- Generate reports promptly.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Safety Responsibilities :
Follow all site safety policies and procedures diligently.Be prepared to access all areas of the facility.Notify department safety representatives and supervisors of any safety concerns.Handle and dispose of chemical waste responsibly in coordination with the EHS team.Quality Assurance :
Ensure accuracy in reporting.Develop an understanding of the company’s Quality Management System.Productivity Standards :
Utilize effective time management for handling multiple priorities.Engage in process improvement initiatives.Minimize waste while executing responsibilities.Qualifications :
Must be at least 18 years old.Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience : Preferred 2 years of familiarity with MS Office and Excel.Certifications / Licenses : None required.Skills : Strong critical thinking and Windows PC knowledge needed.Preferred : Previous lab experience.Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM
