Overview

Join to apply for the Behavior Technician PAID TRAINING & RBT Credential role at FirstSteps for Kids, Inc.

Responsibilities

  • You will receive extensive in-person training that combines classroom teaching with direct observation of your trainer, then gradually run treatment sessions with support until you are confident to work independently with your own clients.
  • Receive training and support to complete the BACB requirements and sit for the RBT exam; training, exam fees, and credential are sponsored and paid for by FirstSteps.
  • Be placed on 2-5 treatment teams dedicated to providing exceptional 1 : 1 ABA intervention, monitored by a mentor who is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Work with assigned children in diverse settings including schools, homes, and the FirstSteps Learning Center.
  • Document daily progress and develop data analysis skills to determine program progression.
  • Regularly participate in clinical meetings to review progress and adjust treatment plans.

Note : This role may also be referred to as RBT, Behavior Technician, Behavior Therapist, and other related titles.

Training, Credential & Location

  • The position sponsors and pays for all requisite training and the RBT credential.
  • Pay range : $20-$23 per hour; actual rate based on knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
  • Location serves East Los Angeles and surrounding areas including Alhambra, Echo Park, El Monte, Pasadena, and the San Gabriel Valley.

    • Qualifications & Requirements

  • Health & safety : proof of childhood vaccinations and non-reactive TB results; reliable transportation with California driver's license and proof of auto insurance; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move between seated and standing positions as needed.
  • Education : certification to earn the RBT credential; college degree preferred but not required; high school graduation required; graduate students in ABA may apply for supervision hours as required by the BACB.
  • Experience : we hire for potential; prior child-care or related experience is valued but not required.
