Summary / Objective :
The Electrical Foreman manages day-to-day operations of crews on assigned commercial electrical projects. Electrical Foreman provides guidance and direction to crews in meeting the budgets and schedule dates on each project. Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every stage of the project. Strong relationship building skills with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is that of a working foreman, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks.
Essential Functions :
The Electrical Foreman plans for and supervises field crew and electrical activities - includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, daily footage installed, material quantities, and documenting actual hours workedCoordinates assigned work with different trades, company departments, or other contractors while maintaining schedule and productionDirects on-site team to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and scheduleResponsible for performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks as a working Electrical ForemanServes as liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, testing, and Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project scheduleConfers with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methodsAssists in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.)Monitors electrical craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implementedStrong equipment setting capabilitiesPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility : Yes
Required :
5+ years electrical experience in commercial construction; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience2+ years of experience as an Electrical Foreman running electrical crews on commercial construction sites.Ability to successfully supervise and direct a team of 10+ workers dailyExtensive knowledge of all types of electrical codes and standards associated with electrical workDemonstrated planning and scheduling experiencePrevious knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, and workforce planningAdvanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groupsStrong ability to create prefab drawings, shop tickets, and QC VDC drawingsDemonstrated knowledge of, reading, interpreting and working to :Design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specifications
