Janitorial Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitorial Worker responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in various office locations. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all occupants.

Responsibilities:

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors and stairs.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners; clean receptacles as necessary.
• Dust and clean office desks and furniture.
• Clean windowsills and windows.
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Ensure janitorial equipment is clean, safe, and in operable condition.
• Properly label, dilute, and use all cleaning chemicals.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Essential Skills:

• Strong cleaning, janitorial, and housekeeping skills.
• Experience in sanitizing and performing janitorial duties efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent client/customer service skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently as needed to support team efforts.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willingness to learn.
• Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus.

Work Environment:

Work during varied shifts, primarily from 5pm to 1:30am, Monday through Friday. You'll be cleaning diverse office locations, wearing work-appropriate pants and slip-resistant shoes. A company-provided shirt is required, and no hats are permitted.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
