CONFIDENTIAL Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor

SMV Recruiting is partnering with a well-established, innovative manufacturing company in the Phoenix, NY area that's expanding its cutting-edge CNC department. This is your chance to make a real impact as a CNC Shop Supervisor, driving production excellence and fostering a collaborative shop floor! This individual will lead a team of machinists on the shop floor, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and work closely with other departments to meet production goals. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience in a machine shop or fabrication / metalworking environment, and strong leadership abilities. Responsibilities :

Oversee daily operations on the CNC shop floor and lead a team of machinists

Assign jobs, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards

Assist in training and mentoring team members to promote skill development

Coordinate with production planning, engineering, and quality departments

Help troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, setups, or processes as needed

Track performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and machinery

Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members when needed

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree in Engineering or a related field is a plus, but not required

5–10 years of experience in a machine shop, metal shop, or fabrication environment is required

Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred

Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and shop floor operations

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
