The successful candidate will provide Oracle database expertise and administration to the US Government Publishing Office. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and level of expertise with various version of the Oracle Database Management System, providing database management and technical support to address system, database, and data issues that inhibit production processing; perform Oracle database software installations and patching; provide knowledge and expertise surrounding database configuration and resulting impacts on production applications; and perform troubleshooting across multiple instantiations, with direct focus on the database software solution.Duties and Responsibilities :
The successful candidate will perform all functional duties including : Monitoring daily operations Performing critical Oracle patching Performing database security assessments and addressing vulnerabilities uncovered during these assessments Developing and executing PL / SQL scripts Performing data modeling and evaluating database changes based on functionality updates Performing quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data Consulting with and advise users on access to various databases and work directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage Performing tuning of the application and database as necessary Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree in computer Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.Professional Certifications Required :
None required Clearance Requirements : Currently possess or able to obtain a Public Trust position based on a favorable National Agency Check Investigation (NAC-I) Years’ Experience Required : 8+ years of directly applicable experience performing database administration Citizenship Requirements : Must be a US citizen Skills and Abilities : Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction; self-motivated with strong time management skills; adaptability to changing priorities and evolving government requirements; detail-oriented approach; and strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present clearly.Working conditions :
