Job description

Materials Coordinator

Summary : Reviewing daily production schedules and identifying the required materials in support of assembly start dates. Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling material and purchase components from inventory and delivering where needed.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Monitors purchase parts and make components supporting assembly 2 / 4 / 6 week look ahead.
  • Identify misalignments with production start dates and shortages. Generate shortage lists for escalation with SCM, PM and Operations.
  • Identifies and verifies parts, ensuring that everything is clearly labeled per AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
  • Verifies items received by inspecting condition of items and comparing count / measure of items to MBOM (Manufacturing Bill of Materials).
  • Sorts and organizes parts effectively, inventory assignment by job.
  • Operates equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks to move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas (requires applicable safety and operational training).
  • Uses computer hardware and software to generate kit lists and accountability.
  • Maintains inventory control and warehouse organization.
  • Moves material / product throughout manufacturing process as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One-year of experience and / or training in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Forklift and crane experience is preferred.
  • Prior material handling or inventory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Work Authorization / Security Clearance Requirements :

  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  • Read design drawings for Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Work independently to meet deadlines are essential.
  • Work Conditions :

  • Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.

  • Operate a motor vehicle and / or heavy equipment.
