Material Handler - Fabrication, 2nd Shift
New Bern, NC / Full-time
Perform material handling and product replenishment throughout Fabrication. Perform all required job functions in a safe manner consistent with plant safety standards. Follow all work instructions which apply to all non-powered and powered industrial pallet jacks, trucks, hoists and lifting gear / equipment.
Responsibilities
- Only operate specifically trained and authorized equipment; report any equipment damage and / or missing safety gear and conduct required daily pre-use inspections.
- Perform all required job functions in a safe manner consistent with plant safety standards and report any problems immediately to Team Leader or Department Supervisor.
- Meet or exceed time standards for particular operation being performed.
- Monitor, stock and maintain Fabrication Supermarkets, Buffers, Point-Of-Use (POU) stations and staging areas with correct parts and / or materials to consistently maintain all Fabrication lines.
- Communicate any / all part shortages to appropriate Team Leader; if / when parts and / or materials are NOT readily available to bring to any Fabrication line.
- Unwrap material pallets / racks / boxes, prepare for loading and load materials into machines per machine work instructions.
- Maintain FIFO rules and min / max quantities for all Fabrication Supermarkets, Buffers and Point-Of-Use (POU) stations.
- Move EMPTY Bitumen Rack "Returns" from POU Stations to designated breakdown staging areas, breakdown and prepare for shipping.
- Provide all Fabrication position staging areas with empty carts / racks of appropriate type.
- Take measurements with micrometers and / or calipers; record date, quantity, measurements taken and calculations per data collection sheet formula as required.
- Move ready for Assembly carts / racks to correct location in Assembly and return empty "Returns" to appropriate Fabrication position staging areas.
- Ensure all empty pallets are disposed of properly, metal waste and trash containers are empty.
- Properly position forklift trucks at battery charging stations and plug-in for charging at end of shift.
- Forklift certifiable.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
