Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN with NM or compact license, CRRT and ECMO experience for a rotating-shift assignment in a Level I trauma children's hospital.
Responsibilities
Position is in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching HospitalTypical patient ratio is 1 : 2Patient population includes respiratory distress / failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme / onc, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempt casesSpecialized procedures performed include CRRT, ECMO, and vent management, with inotropic dripsShifts rotate, but do not alternate within each 4-week schedule; candidates must be flexible to work both days and nights during the contractWeekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shift and 4 to 5 for night shiftFloat required to NICU; may be asked to assist as a resource in the Peds EDNo on-call requiredCerner is used for charting; experience preferredAssignment options typically include 3x12 or 4x12 hour shiftsDuties include managing critically ill pediatric patients and supporting high-acuity casesWill float to NICU and may act as a resource in the Peds ED without full patient assignmentsBlack scrubs are required; scrubs are not providedFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionHoliday coverage required based on schedule; only one holiday bundle off is preferredAssignments longer than 7 consecutive days off may require additional approvalPerm staff eligible to return as travelers after 12 months away from the systemFree parking is availableCompliance and onboarding must be completed prior to start; drug screen required within 30 days of start dateRequirements
