What You'll Do
The Systems Engineer (Active Directory & Microsoft 365) supports and enhances the organization's identity and access management infrastructure, focusing on Active Directory and Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and AzureAD. Reporting to the Manager of Information Security IAM, this role collaborates with IT and business stakeholders to ensure secure, efficient integration and user management across systems. The engineer also mentors the System Administrator, handles daily operational tasks, and contributes to projects of varying scope to uphold security best practices and optimize system performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support Microsoft 365 services : Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Purview.
- Lead engineering efforts for identity modernization, SSO, federation, and cloud migration (Azure, AWS).
- Administer and troubleshoot Exchange Online / On-Prem / Hybrid environments.
- Perform O365 migrations, data moves, license assignments, and mailbox provisioning.
- Collaborate with IAM, Cybersecurity, and IT leadership to implement Microsoft 365 DLP and security controls.
- Design and maintain IAM solutions, policies, and documentation to ensure compliance and secure access.
- Provide Tier IV support and assist administrators with escalated issues.
- Conduct access audits, enforce security policies, and manage dormant accounts.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, system configurations, and technical documentation.
- Generate reports for analysis, access governance, and migration tracking.
- Support automation of IAM processes and recommend process improvements.
- Provide training and support to end users and internal teams on IAM tools and best practices.
- Participate in change management (ITIL), risk assessments, and on-call rotation for 24 / 7 operations.
- Act as SME for Identity Governance and assist with application upgrades and evaluations.
Requirements
Associate Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field (2 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to experience below)Demonstrated success training and mentoring others on Active Directory and Identity and Access management toolsDemonstrated success using analytical tools and skills for the development of workflows, system configuration and documentation related to identity and access managementDemonstrated success designing and administrating Identity Management and AccessDemonstrated success leading large scale projects and processesPreferred Requirements
Certified Identity Management Professional (CIMP), Sailpoint Administrator or Engineer level certificationsA bachelor's degree is preferred, or relevant 4 years relevant work experience and Software experience : Active Directory, Microsoft O365, Third Party Applications, Clinical ApplicationsFreeman Perks and Programs
